Creation Cloud is an internship project focused on optimizing the rendering workflow of an AI-powered cloud visualization platform. The project aimed to enhance the efficiency and intuitiveness of the WeChat Mini Program interface, enabling smoother interaction between the mobile experience and the PC-based cloud rendering system.

Working collaboratively with three other interns, I contributed to every stage of the design process — from data analysis and user research to experience optimization. By combining event-tracking analytics, user flow mapping, and phone interviews, we identified key friction points in the rendering setup process. Using the Five Planes of UX Design framework, I led the redesign of the WeChat Mini Program’s task flow, improving cross-platform consistency and overall user efficiency.

Background

Creation Cloud is a China-based online 3D marketing design platform that enables users to create studio-quality visuals directly in the browser. Through its extensive library of virtual studios, realistic materials, dynamic effects, and 3D model templates, the platform allows anyone to produce professional 3D images and videos for product marketing.

While the core AI rendering process currently operates on the PC platform, the mobile mini program extends its ecosystem by supporting synchronized rendering progress, creative inspiration browsing, community engagement, and template sharing. The optimization project stemmed from the early-stage design of the mini program, which lacked smooth interaction and data linkage with the PC-side experience.

The current product positioning of the mini program lies in user account and content management, branding and increasing website traffic, work reference and sharing.

User Portfolio

Based on phone interviews and backend data, we have categorized the primary users of Creation Cloud into three groups. The majority (over 50%) are designers from small e-commerce companies.

Core Needs Overview

Current Mini-program Framework

Data Analysis

User Retention

The sub-average stay time of the page is half of the per capita stay time, presumably after the first browse, the slow update speed and other factors lead to a sharp decrease in user visits.

Page Visits (PV)

Homepage/Works page are the main pages visited by current users. The personal homepage visit is less than 20%, and users lack a sense of personal involvement.

Source of New Users

Visits are mainly induced by the web-side login. The number of originating from the taskbar accounts is 6%, and the user loyalty of the applet itself is extremely low.

Pain Points Summary

  • The small program does not achieve the role of promotion and attraction
  • The management and preview of personal works are troublesome
  • No channel for sharing personal works
  • The search and view of cases cannot meet the needs of users
